Meetings
The PTA get togethers are usually held on the second Monday of each month at 7.30 pm in the school staffroom. Anyone is welcome to attend these meetings and they are an excellent forum for issues or proposals that parents or members of the community may wish to rise. During our meetings we have a report from the BOT and questions / ideas are taken back to the board.
The staff representative also adds the staff perspective to discussions and the principal also keeps the PTA up to date with school/educational happenings.
The AGM is held in October.
PTA Activities
A really important aspect of the PTA is to organise activities each year for the school and community which are based entirely on having fun and not on how much money we make e.g. Family Barbeque in the park or games night in the hall.
Fundraising is one of the PTAs major roles as the money we generate enables the students at school to access a lot that could not other wise be budgeted for.
The major fundraisers are;
Winter Champs
This annual tournament is where 9 local schools compete in rugby, soccer, and netball.
Golf Tournament
A fun golf tournament is held at the Ngahinapouri Golf Club in May each year.
Favours Auction
Held every three years at Vilagrads Resturant
Garden Ramble
Held every two to three years with gardens from the local community on display.
Being active on the PTA is a great way to get to know what's going on in your children's school and meet lots of people in the district. We look forward to you joining
